Proven Applications

Boiler Tubes/Heat Exchangers
Powerwave acoustic cleaners can be used to supplement or replace steam sootblowers in industrial or utility boilers. Opacity spikes associated with sootblowers can be reduced or eliminated. Powerwave cleaners also remove particulate from rotary or tubular heat exchanger surfaces.

Baghouse Fabric Filters/Elements
Acoustic energy will effectively clean filters by creating a resonant frequency, dislodging dust accumulations from the filters. Acoustic energy allows for a reduction in cleaning cycles, and in some cases eliminates the need to use any other method of cleaning.

Precipitator Components
Powerwave cleaners clean ESP inlet baffles and collecting surfaces without causing mechanical stress, and in some cases are so effective that conventional rapping may be reduced or eliminated.

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Equipment
Acoustic energy is a viable, effective, and comparatively inexpensive method for cleaning SCR catalyst. Acoustic cleaning has become the primary choice of OEMs on all SCR systems.

Material Handling (Hoppers, Fans, Silos, Ductwork)
Powerwave cleaners are designed in many different configurations that allow them to be used in hoppers, I.D. fans, bins, and ductwork. Acoustic cleaners can eliminate the need for sledgehammering, rodding out hopper poke holes, or dangerous work unclogging ash vessels.

EGC (Evaporative Gas Cooling) System
Buildup can occur on the lances or sidewalls of EGC and induct humidification systems. Powerwave acoustic cleaners can be installed on an EGC tower above or below the lances (as shown) depending on the location and severity of buildup.

Spray Dryers
Powerwave acoustic cleaners help to
break up agglomerates on the internal
walls of spray dryers, preventing excessive
wall deposits which can cause blockages.
