  Collecting Plates

This section describes our range of upgraded ESP collector plates We also offer a complete range of replacement plates for most OEMS. Go to the replacement parts section of our web site or call us.

Total Production Control

BHA?s collecting plates are manufactured in our own ISO 9002 certified facility in Folkston, GA, USA. Because we have control over the design and manufacturing process, we can supply plates according to your schedule and needs. Whether you have an emergency need for new collecting plates, or you?re planning a rebuild, you can count on BHA to have the equipment and scheduling flexibility to meet your needs, any time.

High Quality, Innovative Design, From BHA.

Years of experience with inspections, evaluations, troubleshooting and rebuilds of dozens of different precipitator designs have enabled us to develop the toughest, most damage-resistant collecting plates in the market. Patented features, in-house engineering and design, and a dedicated Quality Assurance staff ensure you will receive the most durable, precision made plates available anywhere. Call to arrange a tour of our plant, and watch your plates being made.

The ESP-3. Patented. Toughest Made.

Most vendors offer a single plate design which requires re-engineering to make it fit different units. BHA set out to create a collecting surface that could easily be retro-fit into most precipitators, giving unmatched performance, durability and resistance to bowing, even under extreme conditions.

The Secret Of Our Strength

The patented closed-section design of the ESP-3 is the key. BHA invested in a unique roll-forming process that turns the stiffener section of our plate back to the base sheet, where it is spot welded down the full length of the plate using computer con-trolled resistance welders. This creates a closed box shape at the leading and trail-ing edges of the plate, giving it great strength and the ability to withstand forces that would bow lesser plates. Our roll former also has built in flexi-bility that allows us to offer ESP-3 strip plates in varying widths. ESP-3 plates are available in 16 or 18 gauge carbon or stainless steel, in lengths up to 48 feet (15 m). Typical top and bottom attachment designs of the ESP-3 Collecting Surface. US Patent No. 5,665,147.

The ESP-1. The Standard For Rugged Versatility

Tougher than similar plates, the ESP-1 has a one-piece base sheet that is sandwiched between trian-gular stiffeners. The three thicknesses of metal are resistance welded using microprocessor-based auto-mated welders. The current flow through each welding head is automatically monitored to ensure the highest strength welds. When the stiffeners are completed, the plate is shifted to a structural fixture jig for welding of the upper and lower attachment brackets. Each collecting surface is painstakingly inspected for flatness, camber, twist, and parallelism of the mounting brackets.

Because the stiffeners are not roll-formed into the base sheet, BHA can offer variable stiffener positions to achieve maximum electrical clearances from the discharge electrodes to the stiffeners. No one else offers this kind of design versatility.

ESP-1 plates are available in either 16 or 18 gauge carbon steel, stainless steel, or other specialty metals for corrosive environments, in lengths up to 48 feet 14.63 m.
