Neutralite® Powder
Neutralite® protects bags & improves filtration performance!

Conditioning agents are injected into a baghouse to establish an initial dustcake on new filter bags or to re-establish a dustcake on bags in operation. BHA has developed Neutralite® Powder to protect bags from particulate bleedthrough, blinding, and problems caused by hydrocarbons and moisture carryover.

BHA offers both Neutralite Powder and Neutralite SR (Spark Retardant) for specialized applications to help prevent bags from spark carryover.

How Neutralite® Conditioning Agent works

How Neutralite works

It is the dustcake on the bag fabric that does the filtration, not the fabric itself. During injection, Neutralite forms an initial artificial dustcake on the surface of new fabric, that covers the fabric with a protective, absorbant layer. This layer has millions of pores preventing damaging particulate that could plug fabric interstices. And because Neutralite is lighter than lime, flyash or other precoating agents, it won't fall off the bags during cleaning.

Benefits of Neutralite® Powder:
  • Increased bag life.
  • Absorbs hydrocarbons and moisture.
  • Increased filtration efficiency.
  • Improved stack test results.
  • Inhibits damaging sparks.
  • Lowers differential pressure.
  • No detectable free silica content.
  • Increased airflow.
  • Decreased emissions.
Testing proves Neutralite® helps maintain Differential Pressure

Differential Pressure Chart Comparison

Testing was conducted using 16 oz. scrim-supported 100% polyester fiber fabric which was heat set and calendered. The challenge dust consisted of silica with a median particle size of 0.50 microns. The Neutralite Powder stabilized the differential pressure as shown above.

Agglomeration prematurely shortens bag life and raises
differential pressure, increasing operation costs.

Agglomerated Bags Cost you Money!

Neutralite helps prevent agglomeration from ruining bags exposed to gas stream moisture. Neutralite can also provide new life for damaged bags by creating a porous dustcake that can restore filtration functionality and airflows.

Injection Guidelines
It is important to follow the injection guidelines for both Neutralite and Neutralite SR to achieve maximum performance. One pound of Neutralite is needed per 20 sq. feet (1.86 m2) of cloth area and one bag is needed per 800 sq. feet (74.32 m2) of cloth area for standard dust collector bags. For pleated filter elements, one pound of Neutralite is needed per 100 sq. feet of cloth area.
