Advantages and Benefits of BHA-Tex
®

There are many advantages of using BHA-Tex over conventional fabrics.  These include:

Difficult environments

The use of BHA-Tex ePTFE membrane should be considered when one or more of the following conditions exist:

  • Submicron or sticky dust is present.
  • High humidity.
  • Frequent startup/shutdown.
  • The process has been altered from its original design configuration.
  • Operating conditions are not compatible with those specified during baghouse construction.
  • Production requirements have been modified.
  • Upset conditions occur in the process resulting in excessive maintenance cost.
Do your filters look like this? Moisture in the gas steam mixes with dust and sticks. This agglomeration is a dense, non-permeable moist dustcake, which increases differential pressure and reduces airflow, resulting in decreased production.

Dust never has a chance to stick to filters laminated with BHA-TEX. This 100% Teflon based material ensures increased airflow so you can spend more time producing and less time cleaning and replacing filters.

High Efficiency

BHA-TEX is the best available technology for fine particulate collection. The membrane acts as the primary dustcake, collecting all particulate on the surface rather than in the depth of the filter media. With conventional filter media, emissions can take place at startup and immediately following the cleaning cycle. These emissions are virtually eliminated with BHA-TEX.

Increased Airflow Capacity

Due to the non-stick properties of BHA-TEX, nearly all particulate is easily cleaned from the surface, allowing a low pressure drop to be consistently maintained. This can result in reduced fan energy consumption, higher process throughput, and reduced compressed air costs. Rather than adding more compartments to existing equipment or purchasing new equipment, BHA-TEX may be your most economical solution to increased airflow requirements. BHA process experts can evaluate your system for the best alternative.

Savings

  • Reduced operating costs through less energy usage
  • Long-Term Benefits:
    • Longer bag life due to less cleaning required and NO blinding for most materials (See Differential Pressure Performance below)
    • Less energy required for system airflow
    • More economical cleaning operations
    • Reduced Downtime
  • Production Savings/Process Improvement:

Lower Average Pressure Drop/ Longer Bag Life

The fact that filtration control occurs on the surface of BHA-TEX membrane allows for more improved cleaning using less energy for reduced duration as compared to traditional fabrics

This reduced cleaning, combined with the fact that collected product can't bleed into the base fabric and cause wear like traditional media, enables BHA-TEX membranes to provide longer bag and reduced system pressure.

Lower Fan System Energy/ Increased Airflow

Because BHA-TEX reduces the differential pressure across the baghouse, the system fan can provide the same volume for less energy, or more airflow through the system at the same or reduced energy demand.

By improving the system with BHA-TEX, you will have more stable fan operation, and you will have better control of your dust collection system.
